Zdeno Chara leaves game for Bruins with suspected knee injury
Zdeno Chara left the Bruins game on Thursday night after a big hit on John Tavares and will not return.


Boston Bruins defenseman Zdeno Chara left their game against the New York Islanders on Thursday night after taking just five shifts and playing a little more than four minutes.
According to TSN’s Aaron Ward, Chara is believed to have a left knee injury and could miss 4-6 weeks.

— Aaron Ward (@TSNAaronWard) October 24, 2014 On his next-to-last shift of the game, Chara delivered a huge open ice hit to Islanders captain John Tavares (shown above). He didn't seem to be immediately shaken up as a result of the hit, but played only 40 more seconds after that collision.
The 33-year-old Chara has two goals and an assist in eight games this season for the Bruins.
