Someday the NHL will realize nobody watches Monday Night Football anymore and schedule a full gamut of games on Monday nights.
NHL schedule 2014: Penguins search for consistency in Boston
Struggling NHL teams square off on Monday.

Until then, we'll have to settle for a light schedule yet again. The Pittsburgh Penguins and Boston Bruins highlight a brief lineup of games. The teams will square off on national television in the United States with the matchup set to start at 7 p.m. ET on NBC Sports Network. Both squads have encountered struggles over the last few weeks. Pittsburgh has had the rougher go of things, dropping two to the Islanders in a home-and-home series.
Similarly, the Senators will roll into Detroit at 7:30 p.m. after a tough defeat against the Blues on Saturday. Whether they can rebound against a Red Wings team coming off a huge loss in Toronto remains to be seen. The Islanders have been playing good hockey as of late, winning eight of their last 10 games, including three in a row. New York will attempt to keep things moving in the right direction when it hosts Philadelphia.
