Penguins vs. Bruins: Time, TV schedule, preview and how to watch online

The Pens and Bruins have great opportunities to advance through their respective divisions.

Greg M. Cooper-USA TODAY Sports

Following back-to-back defeats to the New York Islanders, the Pittsburgh Penguins are searching for offensive answers as they head into Boston to face the Bruins on Monday.

When the two foes square off at 7 p.m. ET at TD Garden, all eyes will be on Sidney Crosby as the puck drops. The NHL's best player only managed one shot and no points against the Islanders and needs to get things going offensively if Pittsburgh wants to rebound. The Pens were able to light up the net in the first game, losing 5-4 in a shootout. The offense struggled on Saturday in a 4-1 loss. The back-to-back defeats were the first time Pittsburgh dropped consecutive games since Oct. 22-23. The Penguins have not lost three in a row all year and will need a win on Monday to keep that streak alive.

Meanwhile, the Bruins have a prime opportunity to capitalize on Montreal’s loss Sunday in New York and make up some ground in the Atlantic division. Boston has struggled to keep pace in the division race, but a regulation win against Pittsburgh would help make up some ground. The Bruins have played good hockey recently, winning seven of their last 10 games, but have still lost ground to a Habs team with eight wins in 10 games.
