It’s your typical Saturday in the NHL with 13 games on tap to keep you entertained.
NHL schedule 2014: Blackhawks go for 9 in a row against Islanders, Leafs host Wings
Chicago’s winning streak is getting plenty of attention, and its game against New York highlights a 13-game Saturday.

All eyes will turn to Nassau Coliseum at 7 p.m. ET when the Chicago Blackhawks take their eight-game winning streak in against the New York Islanders. The winning streak is the longest in the league this season.
Perhaps getting more attention than the streak is the health of Jonathan Toews. The hit from behind he took from Boston's Dennis Seidenberg on Thursday left him shaken up, but he traveled with the team to Long Island. It certainly looked like Toews had a head injury, but there's no official word quite yet. With or without the captain, the Blackhawks will have John Tavares and company to worry about.
Elsewhere, the Maple Leafs host the Red Wings on Hockey Night in Canada for the final time this season. When last we saw these two on Wednesday, James Reimer was busy stealing a win for Toronto. The Red Wings piled up the shots and Reimer only allowed one goal to Gustav Nyquist and then a shootout goal to Pavel Datsyuk. Fortunately for Reimer, Jimmy Howard missed on two of three attempts and the Leafs came away with two points.
The league's other hot teams are in action as well. The Buffalo Sabres have won eight of the past 11 games and host the Florida Panthers at 7 p.m. Jhonas Enroth has been virtually impenetrable lately and the Sabres' top line of Matt Moulson, Tyler Ennis, and Zemgus Girgensons has been great. Roberto Luongo has owned Buffalo of late, but he started Friday night in Detroit. The Panthers have won five straight against the Sabres.
The Columbus Blue Jackets have won five straight and host the Pittsburgh Penguins. They won't have to deal with Sidney Crosby thanks to his swollen face problem and the Pens, like the Panthers, are on the second of back-to-back games.
Here’s the schedule for a busy Saturday of action that starts at 1 p.m. in Boston and Philadelphia. You can catch all the action, aside from the games on NHL Network, on GameCenter Live and Center Ice.
