The Stadium Series took a somber turn for the Chicago Blackhawks on Saturday when Blackhawks winger Marian Hossa suffered an upper-body injury in the first period against the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Marian Hossa injury: Blackhawks winger leaves game with upper-body injury
Hossa played just one period of the Stadium Series game.

He did not return to the game. Hossa only played 5:06 in the first period and didn’t register a single shot on goal. After the game, the team said Hossa would likely miss some time.
Coach Q on Hossa: "He might miss some time." Not long-term, but the team will know more on Monday. #Blackhawks

There's no word on when exactly Hossa suffered the injury, but one has to wonder if the weather conditions at Soldier Field played a part. The ice is covered in snow, and Patrick Sharp told NBC's Pierre McGuire that the players were having a tough time seeing through the falling snow.
The other possibility is that Hossa’s back injury has flared up again. Hossa underwent surgery last year on his injured back, and the Blackhawks have watched the 35-year-old closely this season to make sure he’s completely healthy. Hossa has 24 goals and 50 points this season.
