Just 24 hours after the Dallas Stars had to have their game against the Columbus Blue Jackets postponed due to the heart ailment suffered by forward Rich Peverley, they had to back on the ice in St. Louis on Tuesday night. And they were able to pick up an emotional win thanks to captain Jamie Benn's overtime winner. He beat Ryan Miller for his 26th goal of the season.
Jamie Benn scores overtime winner in first Stars game without Rich Peverley
Jamie Benn lifted the Dallas Stars to a win in their first game after forward Rich Peverley collapsed on the bench with a heart condition.

Peverley remained in Dallas on Tuesday as he continues to undergo tests to figure out what triggered his cardiac event on Monday. He collapsed on the bench shortly after taking one of his regular shifts. Earlier this year he missed time due to surgery to repair an irregular heartbeat and even missed a game last week as a result after he was not feeling well.
The situation was obviously terrifying for everybody involved, including his teammates. Forward Alex Chiasson did not travel with the team to St. Louis because he was so shaken up following Peverley’s episode.
Following their win on Tuesday, the Stars maintained their spot in the No. 8 spot of the Western Conference and are looking at a potential first-round matchup against the very team they knocked off on Tuesday.
