Not only do the New Jersey Devils keep losing shootouts, they're now inventing new and more frustrating ways to lose them.
Devils lose shootout on back-to-back spin-o-rama shots
The Devils will never win another shootout.

Friday against the New York Islanders was the latest example. The Devils fell to 0-13 on the season in a shootout that featured the Islanders goalie not making a single save, and Martin Brodeur, perhaps playing in one of his final home games in New Jersey, giving up back-to-back spin-o-rama goals to end it.
After Frans Nielsen and Damien Brunner exchanged goals in the first round, Islanders forward Josh Bailey was the first to go to the spin move against Brodeur.
Devils forward Jaromir Jagr followed that attempt by appearing to beat Islanders goalie Anders Nilsson only to have the puck harmlessly roll off his stick, failing to actually get a shot on goal.
The Islanders clinched the win on the next shot when Ryan Strome dipped into the same bag of tricks that Bailey used. 
The Devils are already eliminated from the playoffs so these losses now are just additional kicks to the stomach. But when you’re five points behind the last playoff team and have an 0-13 shootout record sticking out in the standings, that has to be a frustrating feeling. Even if the Devils were simply a bad shootout team instead of the worst ever, they would still be alive for a playoff spot right now.
