NHL playoff bracket 2014: 16 teams begin quest to hoist Stanley Cup

The 2014 Stanley Cup Playoff matchups are set. The postseason begins Wednesday, April 16.

Here's a look at the 2014 NHL playoffs field. Teams listed first are the higher seeds and have home ice advantage in the first round.

Eastern Conference

Metropolitan Division
Atlantic Division

Western Conference

Pacific Division
Central Division

You’ll notice that while divisional integrity was kept in the East, out West, the Central Division has five teams in the postseason while the Pacific has three. Dallas was assigned to the Pacific Division playoff bracket since they were the lower of the two wild card seeds, and therefore will play the highest Western seed, the Anaheim Ducks.
