Brendan Gallagher takes puck to throat, returns to game
You really don’t want to get hit by a slap shot. You especially don’t want to get hit by a slap shot right in the throat.
Here we see Montreal Canadiens forward Brendan Gallagher getting in the way of teammate Alexei Emelin's second period slap shot and taking the puck right to the throat.
That. Looks. Awful.
And the shove from Nate Thompson probably didn't help him. Fortunately for Gallagher, for as scary and painful as that looked, he was able to return to the game without missing a shift.
