After Jimmy Howard's sensational shutout win in Game 1, Detroit Red Wings fans had to be excited to see what their goaltender had in store in Game 2.
Jimmy Howard’s terrible turnover leads to Bruins goal
Boston was gifted an early 1-0 lead thanks to a tremendous gaffe.

Consider that excitement squashed. Early in the first period, Howard decided to gather the puck in front of his own net with Bruins forward Justin Florek barreling towards him. He had a couple of options at this point: throw it to the open space to his left or try to pass it to defenseman Brendan Smith.
He chose the latter and failed spectacularly.
Howard gets some points back for trying his hardest to stop the scoring chance he created, but that one might come back to haunt Detroit. Giving away goals to the league’s best team is generally a bad idea.
