David Desharnais swipes puck off the line to prevent goal

The save of the game in Montreal didn’t come from a Tuukka Rask or Carey Price. It came from David Desharnais.

Not only have the Boston Bruins been outplayed by the Montreal Canadiens on Monday night, they also haven't been able to catch a break.

They've missed chances, shanked shots when they had empty nets to shoot at, and then had to watch as Montreal's David Desharnais saved a goal by using his glove to swipe the puck off the goal line just as it was ready to go in the net midway through the third period.

That was off of a Zdeno Chara shot from the blue line that was deflected in front of Price and took a weird bounce over his shoulder. Desharnais was not only on the spot to save the goal, but he also avoided closing his hand on the puck in the crease which could have resulted in a penalty shot for the Bruins.

With all due respect to Tuukka Rask’s first period stick save on Brendan Gallagher, that might be the save of the game.
