In his four postseason starts since, he has played about as well as anybody in Montreal could have hoped, and has, at the very least, given his team a fighting chance.
In the first period of Game 5 on Tuesday night, he made his best save to date when a Carl Hagelin shot at the end of a two-on-one rush deflected off the shaft of Tokarski's stick and flew harmlessly out of play.
Little bit of luck there? Sure. But that’s hockey sometimes.
Unfortunately for Tokarski and the Canadiens, Tokarski's luck changed just minutes later when he gave up a bad goal to Derek Stepan that tied the game at one goal apiece.
