Lately, that has not been as much of a problem.
Malkin opened the scoring for Pittsburgh just two minutes into Game 4 on Wednesday night when he took advantage of a couple of New York giveaways and beat Henrik Lundqvist with a spinning, no-look backhander that somehow slid underneath the Rangers' goalie.
Hockey’s a funny game sometimes. Players can go two weeks with a ton of shots on goal and great scoring chances and never score. Then you get a shot when you’re not even looking at the net and the puck finds its way in.
That goal is Malkin’s fifth of the playoffs and his second in as many games.
Crosby had the assist on his goal, which is already his seventh of the playoffs. Penguins coach Dan Bylsma has been putting his two best players together quite a bit in the playoffs and the results have been, not surprisingly, pretty good.
