The Rangers’ power play is still struggling

Not only is the New York Rangers’ power play not scoring, it’s now giving up goals.

Pictured above is the initial reaction Jeremy Roenick had when analyzing the Rangers’ power play during the second intermission on NBC Sports Network on Wednesday night. A double face palm.

That’s how bad it’s getting for the Rangers. Double face palms.

After going 0-for-2 on the man-advantage through the first two periods, New York has run its power play drought to 36 consecutive attempts. Even worse than not scoring? They’re giving up scoring chances the other way and even the occasional goal.

On Wednesday, it was Pittsburgh’s Brandon Sutter picking up a go-ahead shorthanded goal late in the second period after a Rangers turnover in the neutral zone.
