It wouldn't be unfair to say that the Pittsburgh Penguins came out flat in the first period of Game 5 on Friday night. The one exception was the play of Evgeni Malkin.
Evgeni Malkin continues hot streak with incredible goal
You’re going to have to do better than this if you want to stop Evgeni Malkin.

He was even better to start the second period.
Here he is splitting the New York defense, somehow regaining control of the puck, and beating Henrik Lundqvist for Pittsburgh's first goal of the night.
That is already Malkin’s sixth goal of the postseason as he continues to play at a Conn Smythe level.
So far, though, this has been the only highlight for Pittsburgh as they trail the Rangers 4-1 halfway through the second period.
