A few of them are unsurprising: Edmonton, New Jersey, Toronto and Carolina were all expected to race to the bottom of the NHL standings this year anyways. That they’re taking longer to earn a victory should come as a shock to no one.
What is somewhat surprising are the other teams without a win. Pittsburgh. Los Angeles. Anaheim. Columbus. All teams prepared to fight for playoff positions in march. All teams struggling to find their footing in October for one reason or another.
