This own deflection goal pretty much sums up Detroit’s night

The Red Wings are their own worst enemy.

The Detroit Red Wings were the victim of the randomness of hockey Friday night. While Detroit didn't play particularly well in their 5-3 loss to the Carolina Hurricanes -- who now have their first win of the season -- the Red Wings' first loss of the season can be summed up quite well with this goal by Chris Terry.

Terry had enough space behind the net to throw the puck in front for a teammate but instead of a Cane, he got Brad Richards, who accidentally deflected the puck in past goaltender Jimmy Howard. Not a good night all around for the Red Wings.
