Minnesota Wild winger Thomas Vanek is quietly having an excellent start to the season. Vanek continues his torrid start to the year.

The Ducks ran into penalty troubles in the second period but their penalty kill managed to keep the Wild from capitalizing up until the latter half of the period. At that point, Vanek took things into his own hands along the boards. The Wild winger somehow saw an opening through two players and the goalie and fired the puck home.
