Mathew Dumba might be getting a call from the Department of Player Safety after this hit Tuesday night. In a 1-0 Minnesota Wild contest against the Edmonton Oilers, Dumba made a possibly illegal high hit on Lauri Korpikoski as the forward was skating through open ice midway through the first period.

The Wild actually benefited from the hit, as Edmonton's Eric Gryba jumped to Korpikoski's defense and got tacked with a roughing minor for his troubles. On the ensuing power play, Minnesota extended its lead to 2-0 on a Marco Scandella goal.

— Stephanie (@myregularface) October 28, 2015 It looks as if Dumba leads with his shoulder, but the hard hit and the lifting of his elbow on the follow-through might warrant action from Player Safety. Korpikoski came back from the hit late in the first period.
