Islanders’ Frans Nielsen goes end-to-end to score against Hurricanes
New York’s underrated center keeps producing.


Frans Nielsen's excellent start to the season continued on Thursday with one of the better goals of his career. With the game tied at 1-1 in the second period, the Islanders center picked up the puck in his own zone and quickly carved through the Carolina Hurricanes defenders straight to the net for a score.

That was Nielsen’s fourth goal and ninth point in 10 games so far, meaning he’s on pace to far exceed his 14 goals and 49 points of a year ago.
