Here’s your regular reminder goalies should never handle the puck

Here come the Oilers!

It never fails. Every two weeks or so, an NHL goalie will try to play the puck behind his own net and end up turning over the puck. He either can’t get back in front of the net in time and is left standing around looking guilty, or he dramatically dives to stop a shot that found the back of the net two seconds earlier.

Edmonton Oilers goalie Cam Talbot fell into the former category on Saturday. He became the latest victim of this poor-goaltending phenomenon in the second period against the Flames.

Sigh. Roll the tape.

Just ... stay in the net, NHL goalies. We can’t keep doing this every week.
