Just when you thought the Anaheim Ducks were about to turn their season around, their captain torpedoed their shot at a win in spectacular fashion on Tuesday.
Ryan Getzlaf made the worst drop pass in NHL history
That’s one way to lose in overtime.

The Ducks fought the Arizona Coyotes to overtime, where Anaheim controlled the puck early. That didn't last long. Ducks captain Ryan Getzlaf suddenly got super casual at center ice and made a no-look drop pass to absolutely nobody.
Well, almost nobody.
We checked with our SB Nation NHL historians and yep, that’s the worst drop pass in recorded NHL history. Congrats, Getzlaf! That snapped Anaheim’s win streak at three games, leaving them two points behind the Coyotes in the Pacific Division.
