The Colorado Avalanche can give Nathan MacKinnon a good portion of credit for their surprising 4-1 lead over the Montreal Canadiens after two period. The former first overall pick in 2013 has two of the four goals for the Avalanche, both of which came in just 13 seconds at the end of the first period.

Things are really snowballing for the Canadiens.

— Stephanie (@myregularface) November 15, 2015 MacKinnon’s first came on a nifty spin move after a face-off win. The forward was left all alone by the Montreal defense and had the time and space to spin around and rifle a shot over goaltender Mike Condon’s glove.
The second came on a rush and MacKinnon beat Condon at essentially the same spot, just on a backhander. MacKinnon casually threw it on net and Condon barely waved at it as it passed by his shoulder for the then-three-goal Avalanche lead.
