NHL reportedly overhauls All-Star Game format into a 3-on-3 divisional tournament
Alas, poor All-Star Fantasy Draft. We hardly knew ye.

Due to the overwhelming success and popularity of the new three-on-three rules, the NHL has decided to scrap their current All-Star Game format and convert it into a 3-on-3 divisional tournament, according to TSN’s Bob McKenzie.
The tournament will consist of four teams representing each of the league’s divisions. Both conference’s teams will play each other in a 20-minute mini-game, and the winners from each conference will then go head-to-head for 20 minutes to determine an All-Star Game champion. The winning team will split $1 million.
The format change means the end of the short-lived All-Star Fantasy Draft. Started in 2011, the fantasy draft format allowed fans to vote for six players to captain the two teams. The captains would then choose their teammates during a draft televised live.
The 2016 NHL All-Star game will take place in Nashville on Jan. 31. It's the first time the Predators have hosted the event.
