Brad Marchand batted the puck out of the air like a baseball for a goal

Brad Marchand might just have an alternate career as a baseball player if he keeps scoring goals like this. The Boston Bruins forward put the visiting team on the board early with a shorthanded goal that will make the highlight reel for its pure absurdity.

The original shot by Patrice Bergeron flew into the air on the rebound, hanging up there long enough for Marchand to get into position. Despite having three Maple Leafs surrounding him, Marchand was given enough space to bat the puck with the full blade of his stick on a completely open net, avoiding a high sticking call by waiting until the puck had fallen below the crossbar before taking a whack.
