Craig Anderson allows first goal in over 2 games on Patrick Sharp slap shot

Ottawa’s goalie hadn’t allowed a goal in almost 150 minutes.

The Ottawa Senators were coming into Tuesday night's game against the Dallas Stars riding a two game shutout streak from their goaltender Craig Anderson. It's tough to imagine anyone shutting out the dynamic offense of the Stars and sadly, Anderson's bid fell short less than halfway through the game. The streak ended after almost 150 minutes of scoreless play from Anderson thanks to Patrick Sharp's quick slap shot goal in the second period.

Sharp got behind the Ottawa defense and gained enough space to wind up for a swift slap shot that grazed Anderson’s blocker to cut the Senators lead to 2-1. Anderson’s shutout streak ended at 147:04, barely missing the two and a half game mark for the Ottawa netminder.
