Cory Schneider stretches out the glove to save a wide open Montreal chance

What a stop.

Ed Mulholland-USA TODAY Sports

Facing the Montreal Canadiens, who are one of the top teams in the league, it's more than likely an opponent will allow at least a few goals. New Jersey goaltender Cory Schneider is the sole reason the Devils were not down by at least a few after 20 minutes of play, especially on this glove snatch on a wide open Tomas Plekanec wrist shot.

Schneider tracked the pass to Plekanec quickly enough to slide over and flash some leather to keep the game scoreless in the first period. The goaltender almost seemed to lose his footing a little sliding over to make the stop too, making the falling save that much more impressive for the Devils netminder.
