Toronto’s goaltender is wearing some pretty fly checkered Maple Leafs pads

LOOK AT THE TINY MAPLE LEAVES!

Goaltender pads don't really get any better than this. In a league with some pretty standard padding for netminders, a little originality can go a long way. Garret Sparks, a recent call up by Toronto, showed off his cool hardware in the team's game against the Edmonton Oilers Monday night.

Garret Sparks is looking good in his NHL debut.

Former goaltender Martin Biron was such a fan, he tweeted out some really neat comparisons to Sparks' gear over the years.

Trevor Kidd, the goaltender in comparison, also played for the Leafs with similar checkered pads. Sparks still might have the leg up with those maple leaves.
