Alex Ovechkin scores beauty of a goal from his belly

The Caps captain can’t be beat.

Alex Ovechkin can score from anywhere on the ice, even from his stomach. The Washington Capitals captain's seventh goal of the season came from his tummy to tie their game against the Boston Bruins 1-1.

Late in the first period, Evgeny Kuznetsov’s shot from the top of the slot and hit the Russian captain in front of the Bruins net. The puck laid on the ice for a few seconds, before Ovechkin found it.

The captain got tripped up, but managed to get a wrist shot off from his knees before falling on his stomach, where he celebrated the shot that went past the glove side of Bruin netminder Tuukka Rask.
