NHL Thursday: Flyers falter 2-1 in OT to Flames

Dubnyk looks to have the puck caught somewhere in his equipment. Expecting a whistle, the goaltender starts to shift around, thinking he might have it in his glove, when the puck pops out and sits clearly right outside the blue paint. Hodgson follows up on his original shot and backhands the puck in through Dubnyk’s five-hole for the 3-2 game winner.

Neal, who has been criticized for his high hits in the past, went elbow first into the back of Parise close to his neck. Parise barely managed to miss the boards in front of him when landing from the hit, but was down on the ice for a few scary moments before picking himself up and staggering off to the dressing room.

Late in the first period, Evgeny Kuznetsov’s shot from the top of the slot and hit the Russian captain in front of the Bruins net. The puck laid on the ice for a few seconds, before Ovechkin found it.

The captain got tripped up, but managed to get a wrist shot off from his knees before falling on his stomach, where he celebrated the shot that went past the glove side of Bruin netminder Tuukka Rask.

Not your normal route to scoring an opening goal, for sure.
