NHL Saturday: Blues shut out Stars in Central Division battle

Associating the Hurricanes with “fun” hockey is not something NHL fans are used to lately. The franchise has been mired in mediocrity for years now, and the rebuild is only just getting off the ground in Raleigh. For most of this season, nothing has changed. Make no mistake: they are still a lottery team and will probably remain so for the rest of the season.

Washington Capitals forward Evgeny Kuznetsov is quickly becoming the most exciting thing in D.C. not named Alex Ovechkin. His goal Saturday is further proof of that.

Kuznetsov took his career-year to new heights against the Tampa Bay Lightning. He retrieved the puck, wafted into the zone around a defender and then gently wrapped the puck in the net through the tiniest of holes.
