Jeff Skinner breaks out of funk, nets second hat trick in three games

Jeff Skinner is one of the league’s hottest players right now.

After weathering an early storm to start the year, Jeff Skinner has returned to form for the Carolina Hurricanes. A hat trick four days ago in Anaheim was just the beginning for the forward, who now has nine goals in his last six games with Carolina with his three against the Flyers on Tuesday.

Skinner opened the game for the Hurricanes on this goal two minutes in, turning Philadelphia defender Shayne Gostisbehere around for the screened shot.

His second came off of some hard work in the crease on the power play, banging away at a puck in front of netminder Michal Neuvirth until it finally went in.

His final goal to cap off the hat trick went top shelf on Neuvirth, helping the Hurricanes tie a 3-3 game against the Flyers at the halfway stage of the third period.
