Shannon Szabados added another milestone to her excellent career in hockey on Saturday.
Shannon Szabados becomes first woman to register shutout in men’s pro hockey
The Canadian Olympian continues to make history.


The two-time Canadian Olympian made 33 saves in a 3-0 win for the Columbus Cottonmouths of the Southern Professional Hockey League, making her the first woman to record a shutout in any men’s pro hockey league.

— Shannon Szabados (@ShannonSzabados) December 27, 2015 This is Szabados’ second season with Columbus after a tryout in 2014 earned her a permanent roster spot. She previously backstopped Team Canada to Olympic gold medals in 2010 in Vancouver and 2014 in Sochi, Russia.
The 29-year-old is 18-16-4 this season with a 3.29 goals-against average and a .907 save percentage.
