Polish league goalie scores possibly the worst own goal in hockey history

NOT THAT WAY!

Goalies misplaying the pucks is nothing new. It happens every other week; some goalie will get overconfident and bungle a play behind his own net or pass to the wrong person.

But Polish league goalie David Zabolotny just set a new standard for awful goaltending with the own goal of the century on Tuesday.

Zabolotny’s team, JKH GKS Jastrzebie of the Polska Hokej Liga, was down 2-0 with a little over a minute left in the game when the puck rolled back into Zabolotny’s zone. He tried to whirl it back around his own net, and, well...

Just missed that one, David. It’s safe to say Jastrzebie’s comeback ended with a thud.
