The Philadelphia Flyers' season took another hit on Sunday when starting goalie Steve Mason left their game with an injury and didn't return.

Just how exactly Mason got injured is up for debate. The Flyers were just about to go on their fourth penalty kill of the game when Mason hobbled to the bench and trainers helped him to the locker room.

Ray Emery finished the second period in the Flyers' net. Mason was pitching a shutout at the time of the injury, just the latest strong performance in a solid season for the veteran netminder. Mason has a 2.30 goals against average and a .925 save percentage in 33 games this season. So if the injury lingers, the Flyers might have just lost their MVP.
