Kris Versteeg had a tough go of things on Thursday in Arizona. First, he got a face full of punches and slaps from Coyotes goalie Mike Smith for falling on top of him.

Things did not go well for Kris on Thursday.

Then something even more embarassing happened in the second period. Versteeg found himself all alone in the offensive zone with a loose puck sliding his way. All he had to do was skate over, pick up the puck and he’d have a breakaway.
It didn’t quite work out that way.
That little sigh of defeat at the end was just perfect.
