The Wild will look to take a commanding 2-0 series lead over the Blues on Saturday.

The St. Louis Blues hope to avoid an 0-2 series deficit when they host the Minnesota Wild on Saturday afternoon in Game 2 of their Western Conference quarterfinal matchup at Scottrade Center in St. Louis.

The Wild lead the best-of-seven series, 1-0, after a pair of power play goals fueled a 4-2 road win on Thursday night in St. Louis.

The Central Division champion Blues were a strong 27-12-2 at home during the regular season, with 56 points owners of the fifth-best home record in the sport. Another home loss on Saturday afternoon would mean trouble for St. Louis, who has lost 18 of 19 playoff series in which it lost the first two games.

“I would fully expect them to come out and play a real physical brand of hockey, try to impose themselves on us,” Wild coach Mike Yeo told NHL.com. “I expect them to try to throw everything at the net and try to crash the net real hard. I don’t think that’s a real big secret. But we’ve just got to make sure we’re not sitting around watching and waiting to see what they’re going to bring at us. We have our own game plan that we’ve got to make sure we’re aggressive in how we approach ourselves.”

Minnesota has been road warriors of late, winning 12 of its last 13 road contests, including Game 1 on Thursday.

The Wild-Blues matchup runs concurrently with Detroit Red Wings-Tampa Bay Lightning on Saturday at 3 p.m. ET. Select markets will have the Wild and Blues on NBC, while other markets will see the game on NBCSN, with Dave Strader and Brian Engblom on the call.

NBC's coverage on Saturday begins with a 30-minute NHL Live pregame on NBCSN at 2:30 p.m., with Liam McHugh, Mike Milbury and Jeremy Roenick in studio.
