Tyler Johnson played the hero for the Tampa Bay Lightning in Game 4, contributing to two late-game goals and scoring the game-winner in overtime to earn a 3-2 comeback win over the Detroit Red Wings.
Lightning vs. Red Wings 2015 final score: Tyler Johnson plays hero in 3-2 overtime win
Johnson single-handedly dragged Tampa Bay back from the brink.

A rather evenly-played first period gave way to a much more unbalanced second frame, at least on the score sheet. Tampa Bay outshot the Red Wings 14-10 in the second period, but came up empty thanks to solid play by Wings goalie Petr Mrazek.
Detroit capitalized on the chance Mrazek provided. A pretty passing play in the offensive zone resulted in a goal by Gustav Nyquist five minutes in. Midway through the period, Lightning goalie Ben Bishop juggled a shot by Joakim Andersson into his own net to extend Detroit’s lead to 2-0.
For a long time it seemed like a 3-2 series deficit was inevitable for the Lightning. But the entire scope of the series changed when Tyler Johnson scored with six minutes left in the third to get his team on the board. A minute later, he assisted on Ondrej Palat’s game-tying goal to send it to overtime.
And then, naturally, Johnson won the game for Tampa Bay with a goal just 2:25 into the extra frame. Thanks to Johnson’s heroics, the Lightning are tied at 2-2 with the Red Wings after four games.
3 Things We Learned
1. Tyler Johnson single-handedly changed the momentum of the series.
And he may have saved the Lightning’s season. His two late goals to start the comeback and win the game mean the Lightning head into Game 5 on even terms with the Wings, instead of fighting for their playoff lives. That’s a lot of relieved pressure they can use to their advantage. Johnson now has five points and four goals in four playoff games, picking up right where he left off in the regular season.
2. Ben Bishop, on the other hand...
It’s hard to remember that Bishop was a Vezina Trophy finalist last season. He’s been wildly inconsistent during this playoff series, making decisions that don’t really make any sense. Like trying to tackle a player who was attempting to make a play.

3. What happened to Steven Stamkos?
The league’s best scoring center (depending on how you feel about Tyler Seguin) is still playing a lifeless game right now. He admitted before Game 4 that he has to be better, but it didn’t translate to the ice. Stamkos was held scoreless, meaning he has just two assists in the playoffs after registering 72 points in the regular season.
