The New York Rangers return home to Madison Square Garden for Game 5 of their Stanley Cup Playoffs Eastern Conference quarterfinals series on Friday night in New York. The Rangers are hoping they can eliminate the Pittsburgh Penguins for a second straight season.

New York leads the best-of-seven series, 3-1, thanks to pair of 2-1 road wins in Pittsburgh, including an overtime win in Game 4 when rookie Kevin Hayes found the back of the net just 3:14 into the extra period on Tuesday night.
One year ago, in the conference semifinals, the Rangers were in the opposite position, down, 3-1, to the Penguins, staring down a Game 5 on the road in Pittsburgh after back-to-back losses at home. New York rallied for three straight wins to capture that series, outscoring the Pens, 10-3, in the process.
Derick Brassard, who has scored three goals in the series, doesn't want the Penguins to turn the tables on his team this season.
“We know from last year. We’re a team that always came back from those series,” Brassard told Blue Shirts United. “We’re not playing our best right now so we can’t really be too comfortable. We’re going to try and play a better game tomorrow and just feel better about ourselves.”
The Penguins will need production out of Sidney Crosby, who scored two goals in Pittsburgh's Game 2 win, but has been held to no goals and an assist in the other three games of the series.
Game 5 will be televised nationally by NBC Sports Network at 7 p.m. ET, with Gord Miller and Pierre McGuire on the call.
