Maxim Lapierre mocks Dan Boyle with chicken impression

This, just two years after Lapierre injured Boyle.

Maxim Lapierre is a pest. That's not really an insult as much as it is simply the Pittsburgh Penguins winger's role on the team. He plays on a checking line and tries to get under opponents' skin. And for the most part, he does it well.

But he might have crossed a line with the mental jousting on Friday in Game 5. At the end of the second period, Lapierre decided to make chicken wings motions at New York Rangers defenseman Dan Boyle.

On its own, this is rather innocuous. But as you might recall, Lapierre laid a hit on Boyle in 2013 that forced trainers to carry the veteran off the ice on a stretcher.

Calling the guy you almost seriously injured a chicken? Probably not the best karma for a Penguins team one loss from elimination.
