Game 5 between the Detroit Red Wings and Tampa Bay Lightning will ultimately hinge on whether Detroit can put the past behind them.

Detroit seeks to move on from Game 4’s disappointment.

Detroit held a two-goal lead late in Game 4 on Thursday before conceding three goals in five minutes (including the overtime winner from Tyler Johnson) to the Lightning to lose the game. The loss meant that instead of holding a commanding 2-1 series lead, the Red Wings are now seeking to separate themselves from their opponent yet again.
As devastating as the loss could be, the Red Wings have a few factors in their favor. First of all, goalie Petr Mrazek has played brilliantly in relief of usual starter Jimmy Howard. Mrazek sports a 2.43 goals against average and a .922 save percentage so far, and has proven to be capable of shutting down Tampa Bay on a moment's notice.
Meanwhile, the Lightning have had to thrive without their captain, Steven Stamkos, playing to his full potential. Stamkos has only three points in the playoffs so far, and players like Tyler Johnson have been forced to pick up the slack. Both advantages could weigh heavily in Detroit's favor on Saturday.
