The long, grueling postseason in the Canadian Hockey League has finally reached its peak with the 2015 Memorial Cup in Quebec City.

Four teams visit junior hockey’s finest tournament for the first time in ages.

Canadian junior hockey’s premier tournament will feature four teams not used to playing this far into the spring. The Kelowna Rockets and Rimouski Oceanic haven’t played in the Memorial Cup since 2009. The other two teams have waited even longer. The Quebec Remparts’ last appearance was in 2006 and the Oshawa Generals’ was in 1997. Whether the fresh blood will result in an entertaining tournament remains to be seen.
The format
Three of the four teams participating qualified by winning their respective CHL league championships. The WHL champion Kelowna Rockets, OHL champion Oshawa Generals and QMJHL champion Rimouski Oceanic will be joined by the host team, the Quebec Remparts.
The tournament is a round-robin, with each team playing each other once before the semifinal round. The second-place and third-place teams then play with the winning team advancing to play the first-place team in the final round for the Memorial Cup.
