Corey Crawford appears dazed after shot off helmet, remains in game anyway

No quiet room visit?

Chicago Blackhawks goalie Corey Crawford remained in Game 2 despite a woozy reaction to taking a shot off his mask in the third period.

The incident occurred midway through the frame. Minnesota Wild defenseman Marco Scandella fired a slap shot as he entered the zone that ricocheted off Crawford's head and into the corner.

Crawford’s immediate reaction was alarming, to say the least.

Without context, it looks like he just lost his balance. But considering he just took a large chunk of rubber off his helmet at a blazing speed, that dazed reaction was concerning. Here’s another look:

The NHL has a “quiet room” for players to go to after a head injury, but Crawford didn’t leave the ice. Instead, he switched helmets and simply played out the rest of the game.
