Rangers vs. Capitals 2015 live stream: Time, TV schedule and how to watch NHL playoffs online

Both teams will meet Monday night in Washington D.C., where the Capitals hope to seize momentum back in what has been a closely fought series so far.

The New York Rangers entered Game 2 with renewed vigor, and were able to knot up their second round NHL playoffs series against the Washington Capitals at one game apiece, despite Alex Ovechkin's unreal efforts. Fortunately for the Caps, they'll have a good opportunity to reverse momentum when the series goes to D.C. on Monday evening.

The Rangers jumped out to a 2-0 lead Saturday and were able to hold off a late Capitals onslaught. Poor starts against the Rangers have been a recurring theme for the Caps. They were outscored a combined 7-2 during the first period in four games against the Rangers during the regular season. Though goaltender Braden Holtby gave up two early goals Saturday, the 2-0 deficit arguably would have been worse if not for his heroics. The Caps were outshot 15-4 during the first period.

The final two periods were won by Washington, which may be a concern for New York. The difference was not as lopsided as the Rangers’ advantage during the first period, but the Capitals’ secured enough momentum to end the loss while expecting a rebound performance in Game 3. With the home crowd behind them, the Capitals may press to seize control of the game early.

The game will be broadcast once again on NBC Sports Network, with the CBC and TVA Sports hosting coverage for Canada and Quebec. Faceoff is at 7:30 p.m. ET for what is shaping up to be, perhaps, the best second-round series of the playoffs.
