Mikael Backlund scored 4:24 into overtime, lifting the Calgary Flames over the Anaheim Ducks 4-3 in Game 3 of their second-round series on Tuesday night at Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary.

The Ducks, 20 seconds from owning a 3-0 lead in the series, lead the best-of-seven set two games to one.
Things looked bleak for the Flames until Johnny Gaudreau scored with 20 seconds left in the third period, giving the home team new life. The 21-year-old Gaudreau was the second-leading scorer on Calgary this season, with 24 goals and 40 assists. He has scored three goals in the postseason to go with four assists in nine games.

Matt Beleskey scored at 8:20 in the second period, giving the Ducks a 3-2 lead. It was Beleskey's third goal of the series, and it looked like it might have been the game-winner, at least until Gaudreau lit the lamp late in the third. Corey Perry scored his sixth goal of the postseason in the loss for Anaheim, who was undefeated this postseason before Tuesday night.
Karri Ramo stopped 18 of 21 shots in the win for Calgary.
The Ducks and Flames will resume their series in Game 4 on Friday night at Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary.
