The Washington Capitals have an opportunity to close out the New York Rangers in the second round of the playoffs when they travel to the Big Apple Friday up 3-1 in the best-of-seven series. For a moment at least, it appeared the defending Eastern Conference champions would be returning to Madison Square Garden with the series knotted up.
Capitals vs. Rangers, 2015 NHL playoffs: Time, TV schedule and how to watch Game 5 online
New York is down 3-1, but will try to extend the series in front of its home fans.

After being in the driver's seat on the road in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference semifinals, a breakout performance from Andre Burakovsky sent the Rangers reeling. The rookie scored his first two playoff goals in a come-from-behind win, and now the Rangers face elimination when many felt they could go the distance this time around.
The Capitals will try to ride the hot streak of goaltender Braden Holtby, who made 28 saves and stopped a penalty shot with a glove save to preserve a one-goal lead late in the third period in Game 4.
If New York wants a shot at getting back in the series, Henrik Lundqvist will need to turn things around after allowing seven goals in the first four games of the series. The Rangers need a better effort across the board to stay alive.
