The Hurricanes scored on the Penguins thanks to the wackiest bounce ever

The Pittsburgh Penguins had to be flummoxed after falling behind to the Carolina Hurricanes in the flukiest way possible on Tuesday.

Already down 1-0 in the second period, the Penguins faced another rush into the offensive zone by the Hurricanes. Carolina winger Kris Versteeg led the rush and fired the puck toward the net. The Penguins deflected it away with a stick, so no harm done, right?

Oh, so wrong. Because then something totally weird happened.

HOW DID THAT GO IN? It’s like the hand of the hockey gods reached down, picked up the puck and dropped it in off Marc-Andre Fleury’s backside.
