Kris Letang makes mincemeat out of Lightning defense on goal off the faceoff

It's not often you see defensemen crash the net on set plays in hockey. Maybe that's what caught the Lightning off guard here, but either way Kris Letang has the Penguins tied with the home team 1-1 after 20 minutes of play.

On an offensive zone draw, Letang took the win off the stick of Sidney Crosby and carved his way around the Lightning defense before firing off a quick wrist shot from the bottom of the left circle. Tampa Bay netminder Andrei Vasilevskiy clearly doesn't anticipate Letang's speed, or the shot that eventually went five-hole on the Lightning goaltender.

Not a bad one for the defender’s sixth tally of the season.
