Devan Dubnyk and the Minnesota Wild were about to coast to a 1-0 shutout victory at home over the Arizona Coyotes. Just a shade over a minute separated them from a sweet, sweet victory. That was until Dubnyk decided to leave his net and make one of the worst goaltending mistakes we'll see this season.
Devan Dubnyk turns routine play behind the net into disastrous tying goal
Never. Ever. Leave. Your. Net.

— Stephanie (@myregularface) January 26, 2016 Why Dubnyk hesitated before making a pass up the boards is a complete mystery. Maybe he didn't like what he saw, but his hesitation allowed Tobias Rieder to capitalize on the misfired pass. The turnover landed right on Rieder's stick and the rest was history as Antoine Vermette tied the game for Arizona, sending things to overtime on a shorthanded tally no less.
The game eventually went to a shootout, which the Wild lost to give the Coyotes a 2-1 win. Safe to say this loss sits squarely on Dubnyk’s shoulders for allowing that final goal on a costly mistake.
