Morning Skate: The Florida Panthers may never lose again

That’s 10 straight for the Panthers, while the Stars keep falling.

Robert Mayer-USA TODAY Sports

You love hockey. You love SB Nation. You love reading hockey at SB Nation. Search your feelings. You know these things are true. But life’s too busy to browse the whole network for news. So, we’ve put all the hockey news in one convenient place for you. No research required.

Lace ‘em up. Time for the Morning Skate.

★★★

YEP, STILL GOING: The Panthers cannot be stopped. Florida won its 10th straight game on Tuesday, extending their lead over the Red Wings in the Atlantic to five points.

IT HELPS WHEN THIS GUY IS STILL PLAYING: Guess who scored again? Jaromir Jagr. Although, the Ageless One did get a perfect saucer pass to set it up.

ON THE OTHER HAND: Heading in the opposite direction are the Stars. They lost their third straight, Jamie Benn and Tyler Seguin got benched for the entire third period and suddenly the Blues are creeping up on their Central lead.

THIS PLEASES ME: Meanwhile, Rangers fans are ecstatic with how their team dismantled the league-leading Stars on Tuesday.

IF HE GOES, I GO: Speaking of the Blues, St. Louis Game Time argues that if the coach gets fired, so should the general manager.

SCORES FOR YOU, SIR OR MADAM:

Capitals 3, Bruins 2
Panthers 5, Sabres 1
Rangers 6, Stars 2
Blackhawks 3, Penguins 2 (OT)
Wild 4, Blue Jackets 2
Flyers 4, Canadiens 3
Jets 4, Predators 1
Flames 3, Lightning 1

PEVERLEY LOVE: The Stars and Fox Sports released a terrific documentary of the night Rich Peverley collapsed and nearly died on the Stars’ bench in 2014. If you have 20 minutes to spare today, check it out. And bring tissues.

WHAT A FINALE: Boy, the World Juniors was all kinds of fun yesterday. The gold medal game was a thriller from start to finish, with Russia tying the game with 6.9 seconds left in regulation. But Kasperi Kapanen’s goal was even better in overtime, giving Finland the gold medal on home ice.

AT LEAST IT’S SOMETHING: Meanwhile, the United States routed Sweden to earn the bronze.

THAT’S NOT NICE: Stanley Cup and Olympic champion Jonathan Toews fell down in practice and mean kids laughed at him.

KARI ME HOME: The Flames’ goalie stole the show in a win over the Lightning.

AT LEAST HE TRIED: That didn’t keep USA goalie Alex Nedeljkovic from making some incredible saves in the loss.

PITCH IN: Boston Pride player Denna Laing had to be stretchered off the ice during the Women’s Winter Classic, and Stanley Cup of Chowder will tell you how you can help her family during this difficult time.
